About Nick

Hello, my name’s Nick!

I am a game developer and technical artist based in Adelaide, Australia, and techarthub is my website. Thank you so much for visiting. I hope you’ve found what you’re looking for.

I have been in the games industry for over eight years, and in that time I’ve worked as a 3D animation instructor, game designer, environment artist, realtime effects artist, and production supervisor – purely because I love the whole process of game development and I just couldn’t pick a specialty.

As luck would have it, it turns out there’s a place for people like me – and that’s technical art.

I’m so happy to be here. It’s been a journey.

My work

As Senior Game Designer at Monkeystack, I have been fortunate to work on a broad range of award-winning projects. From educational mobile apps and physical interactive installations, to games for entertainment and experimental VR experiences – we’ve done it all.

As leader of the Starry Expanse Project, I have been responsible for managing a medium-sized international team on a large-scale game project. It has made me intimately familiar with every aspect of the interactive development pipeline, whether I wanted to or not!

Why techarthub?

My experiences teaching 3D modelling and character animation at both secondary and tertiary level were intense (I am a nervous public speaker) but also immensely rewarding.

This website is my solution. It lets me share my knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to this industry I love so much, while at the same time keeping my anxiety levels at a workable minimum.

So far, so good.
